Meeting with H.E. Yar Pyae and Representatives of Seven Ethnic Armed Organizations ( 01 July 2022 )


On the morning of 01 July 2022, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia and the Special Envoy (SE) of the ASEAN Chair on Myanmar, had a meeting with H.E. Yar Pyae, Chairman of National Solidarity and Peace-making Committee (NSPNC). The meeting focused on various agendas including (1) the progress of engagement with the Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) in the National Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), (2) the sharing of Cambodia's experiences in implementing the Win-Win policy of Samdech Techo Prime Minister Hun Sen, and (3) the role of National Solidarity and Peace-making Committee (NSPNC) in delivery of humanitarian assistance and vaccination campaign to the people of Myanmar in the hard-to-reach areas.

After this meeting, the Special Envoy of the ASEAN Chair, accompanied by H.E. Ekkaphab PHANTHAVONG, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC), had another meeting with the representatives of seven Ethnic Armed Organizations, which have signed the National Ceasefire Agreement with the State Administration Council (SAC). They exchanged views on political situation in Myanmar, especially how to advance peace talk for the benefit of all people in the country. H.E. Deputy Prime Minister took the opportunity to share with the Meeting the successful implementation of the Win-Win Policy initiated by Samdech Techo Prime Minister Hun Sen, which has led Cambodia to today’s peace, stability and development.
