On the evening of 22 June 2025, His Excellency CHHAY Makara, Director-General of Asia-Pacific General Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, summoned Ms. Ek-on Khunacharoen, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Royal Thai Embassy to the Kingdom of Cambodia and handed over a diplomatic note to strongly protest against the complaint filed by Mr. Somkid Chueakong, Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand,  as reported in the Thai media, against Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, in connection with the recording of phone conversation between Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Her Excellency Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand.
