On 20 April 2025, Her Excellency UN Bophanna, Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of Cambodia to UNESCO-Paris and Director of Cambodia House, organized the celebration of Khmer New Year 2025 “Songkran 2025” at the Cambodia House in Paris, France.
On this occasion, there were many Cambodian people, Cambodian students, and Cambodian youths in France, as well as a large number of distinguished guests from various nationalities, with over 300 participants, wholeheartedly celebrated to welcome Khmer New Year 2025 at the Cambodia House.
During the New Year’s celebration, in the morning there were traditional Khmer’s religious ceremonies, while in the afternoon there were performances of classical Khmer dances and Khmer martial arts presented by six Khmer cultural and martial arts associations based in France. Notably, there were also traditional Khmer games and joyful dancing with fraternity.
The participation of Cambodian peoples in France in the Khmer New Year’s celebration truly demonstrated a spirit of unity and solidarity. Regardless of where they are, all Cambodians continue to come together to preserve and promote the traditions and culture from Khmer ancestors.
