On the morning of 2 June 2025, the National Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations (NIDIR), in collaboration with Cyber Law International and with support from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) of Australia, held the opening ceremony of an executive course on “International Law of Cyber Operations”. The event was presided over by H.E. Dr. Khy Sovanratana, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, along with Ms. Bridget Collier, Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy to Cambodia, representing the Australian side.
The training course is conducted from 2 to 6 June 2025 and attended by 25 officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, and Ministry of Information.
The objective of the training is to strengthen national capacity and promote international cooperation on cyber-related issues — an essential strategy for enhancing Cambodia’s legal framework and fostering regional and global dialogue, especially as the country is drafting laws on cybercrime and cybersecurity.
