On 12 June 2025, Her Excellency EAT Sophea, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and His Excellency Patricio Powell Osorio, Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to the Kingdom of Cambodia,​ with Residence in Bangkok, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Establishment of Political Consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Cambodia and Chile.

Her Excellency EAT Sophea exchanged views with Ambassador Patricio Powell Osorio on strengthening and deepening bilateral relations and cooperation in potential areas, such as trade, investment, tourism, and people-to-people connectivity.  

Both sides also expressed commitment to further enhancing cooperation in international fora and emphasized the importance of bilateral consultations between the two Foreign Ministries. They agreed to convene the first meeting in the near future.
