On 18-22 June 2025, His Excellency BONG Sovath, Under- Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, attended the Cascais World Food Summit in Lisbon, Portugal, to receive the “Special Award of the Jury” by the 30th Gourmand Awards for the Taste of Angkor 2.

On that occasion, representative of the Economic Diplomacy Coordinating Group delivered a presentation on Cambodia’s culinary diplomacy and the significance of the Taste of Angkor series in promoting Khmer cuisine and cultural identity. It also reflects the ministry’s ongoing endeavour to contribute to the overarching goals of economic diplomacy strategy.

The Cambodian delegation also took the opportunity to meet with numerous renowned publishers, chefs, writers, journalists and influencers from all over the world to further promote Cambodia’s rich gastronomy and cultural heritage on the international stage.
