On the morning of 4 September 2025, His Excellency KUNG Phoak, Secretary of State and ASEAN SOM Leader of Cambodia, had a bilateral meeting with His Excellency Darkey Ephraim Africa, Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to Cambodia, with residence in Bangkok, at the Ministry.

During the Meeting, both sides underscored the importance of the longstanding friendship and the good bilateral relations between Cambodia and South Africa, and discussed opportunities for expanded cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, and tourism. Both sides also exchanged views on the current situation along the Cambodia–Thailand border and reaffirmed Cambodia's unwavering commitment to peacefully resolving the border dispute through dialogue and international law.
