On the morning of 19th September 2025, on behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia, His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, defended before the Extraordinary Session of the 5th Legislature of the Senate the draft law on the Addendum to the Treaty of the Southeast Asia Nuclear Weapon-Free Zone (SEANWFZ Treaty).

The Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia subsequently enacted the law, underscoring Cambodia’s commitment to a more fullyintegrated ASEAN through the inclusion of Timor-Leste as its 11th member of ASEAN, and to promoting regional and global peace and security by preserving the Southeast Asia as a region free of nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction.
