Her Excellency Acting Minister conducts a briefing on the latest developments of the Cambodia-Thailand border dispute


On the morning of 25 September 2025, Her Excellency EAT Sophea, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, conducted a  briefing on the latest developments of the Cambodia-Thailand border dispute in the areas of Prey Chan and Chouk Chey villages, O Bei Choan Commune, O Chrov District, Banteay Meanchey province. Participants of the briefing includes 43 members of the diplomatic corps and the representatives of  6 of United Nations agencies accredited to the Kingdom of Cambodia.

 

Her Excellency the Acting Minister reaffirmed Cambodia’s unwavering commitment to upholding the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand, reached on 28 July 2025. She also reiterated the firm commitment of the Royal Government of Cambodia to seeking an amicable resolution to all boundary disputes with Thailand, as with all other neighbours, through peaceful means in accordance with international law, while remaining resolute in upholding the principled position that borders must not be changed by force.
