On the afternoon of the same day, His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held a bilateral discussion with His Excellency Bendito Dos Santos Freitas, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, on the margins of the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The two foreign ministers were pleased to meet each other, following the Official Visit to Cambodia by the Minister of Timor-Leste from 3 to 4 April 2025.

His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister conveyed warmest congratulations from Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to Timor-Leste on its admission as a full member of ASEAN. He firmly believed this is a significant milestone that strengthens regional solidarity and the collective journey toward a more prosperous ASEAN community.
