On 19 March 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFA.IC) commemorated "MLC Week 2024” in Phnom Penh on the occasion of the Eighth Anniversary of the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) by organizing the MLC Badminton Tournament of Friendship and Solidarity. The event was presided over by His Excellency MEAS Kim Heng, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and attended by Ambassadors from the Embassies of MLC Countries in Phnom Penh, leaders and officials of MFA.IC, and youth of around 200 participants.

This occasion not only stands as a testament to the successful journey and the monumental achievements of partnership within the MLC framework, but also serves as a special connection to promote friendship, and solidarity through  sports such as Badminton Matches, contributing to realising the vision of MLC’s Leaders of building a community of shared future of peace and prosperity among MLC countries.
