Reviewing the Three-year Achievements of Economic Diplomacy


The Economic Diplomacy Coordinating Group of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation organised a meeting to review the three-year achievements of economic diplomacy related works and to gather inputs for the Economic Diplomacy Strategy 2024-2028. The meeting was presided over by His Excellency Dr. CHHIV Yiseang, Secretary of State as representative of His Excellency SOK Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Over 150 participants, who were leaders of MFAIC, heads of Cambodia missions abroad, representatives from relevant ministries-institutions and the private sector attended this event on 27 March 2024, at the Sun & Moon Riverside Hotel.

Her Excellency KHIEV Sophany, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, chaired the meeting and led the exchange of views on achievements, challenges and cooperation between the public and private sector, with the main focus on trade promotion, FDI attraction and the promotion of cultural, tourism and sports exchanges, which were the key objectives of economic diplomacy in the last few years. In addition, the meeting focused on inputs for incorporating in the drafting of the Economic Diplomacy Strategy 2024-2028.

In the afternoon of the same day, The Economic Diplomacy Coordinating Group held The Networking Session which played as a crucial platform for the heads of Cambodia missions abroad and the private sector to interact and enhance closer cooperation. Cambodian companies and enterprises also had a chance to exhibit various products in hope to gain international exposure and enhance export potentials.
