On the morning of 10 June 2025, His Excellency KUNG Phoak, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ASEAN SOM Leader of Cambodia, participated in the ASEAN Senior Officials' Meeting (SOM) in Penang, Malaysia. 

The Meeting discussed on Timor-Leste’s Accession into ASEAN, the application and implementation of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), ASEAN external relations, including efforts to revitalise the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), and the preparations for the upcoming 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings, to be held on 8-11 July 2025.
