On the morning of 7 July 2025, His Excellency KUNG Phoak, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ASEAN SOM Leader of Cambodia, participated in the ASEAN Senior Officials' Meeting (SOM) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Meeting discussed Timor-Leste’s accession into ASEAN, the application and implementation of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), ASEAN external relations, including applications for formal partnerships, and the preparations for the upcoming 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings, to be held on 8-11 July 2025.
