His Excellency CHUM Sounry hosts a farewell lunch for outgoing Ambassador of Canada to Cambodia


His Excellency CHUM Sounry, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, praised Her Excellency Ping Kitnikone, Ambassador of Canada to Cambodia, for her valuable contribution to advancing Cambodia-Canada relations, including the upgrade of the Office of the Embassy of Canada in Phnom Penh to a full-fledged Embassy. His Excellency Sounry also commended the Ambassador’s notable achievements during her tenure, as expressed during her farewell meeting held over a working lunch hosted by the Secretary on 25 July 2025. The Ambassador was accompanied by her chargé d’affaires, Mr. David Verbiwski.

 

Both sides agreed to convene the 2nd Bilateral Consultation between the two Foreign Ministries later this year in Cambodia, noting the success and significance of the inaugural round held in Ottawa last year. They also exchanged views on a range of cooperative issues, including the continued promotion of bilateral trade and investment.

 

Her Excellency the Ambassador pledged to make every effort to continuously strengthen and deepen the relationship and partnership between Cambodia and Canada.
